El motivo principal de la elecci\u00f3n de esta fecha fue para conmemorar la realizaci\u00f3n del mega concierto de rock \u00abLive Aid\u00bb, celebrado el 13 de julio de\u00a01985,<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference separada\"><\/sup>\u00a0el cual cont\u00f3 con la presencia de importantes bandas e int\u00e9rpretes del g\u00e9nero procedentes de\u00a0Europa\u00a0y\u00a0Estados Unidos\u00a0con el fin de recaudar fondos a beneficio de\u00a0Somal\u00eda\u00a0y\u00a0Etiop\u00eda, pa\u00edses del\u00a0continente africano\u00a0que atravesaban por una severa crisis de hambruna.\u200b<\/p>\n<p>Este evento se llev\u00f3 a cabo en dos escenarios principales en simult\u00e1neo, siendo estos organizados en las ciudades de\u00a0Londres\u00a0en\u00a0Inglaterra\u00a0y\u00a0Filadelfia\u00a0en\u00a0Estados Unidos.
